Noise from front at low speeds..

I have a Panamera 4 with 5K miles with PDDC.. PASM

I began to hear a noise (tick...tick... tick... tick.tick.tick.tick.ticktickticktick.. ) from front while I'm driving slowly 2 weeks ago.. The rhythm of sound increase and decrease with cars speed and suddenly off after 3rd gear or a certain speed.. It doesn't matter if it's the engine or tires are cold, i hear the sound even after 1 hour driving..

It's like something stuck in wheels and while the wheels are turning it hits every spoke of the wheel.

Is this normal? Should I take the car to the service?

Not normal, definitely take it in for service. Could be a brake, bearing, or drive train issue.

or it could be simply a rock stuck on the tire. Do you have aftermarket wheels?? HRE 3-piece wheels are know to make noise like that too for unknown reason.

Update: Sound coming while the car is idle, not moving so it can't be the tires..

I'm very disappointed with this car! It has only 5K miles and they said the engine has to be replaced and it will take 1 or 2 months! Who said Porsche make reliable cars? Can you just say it's bad luck? I've just had the air suspension compressor replaced 3 months ago and now the engine! What's next!

There were other cars waiting for engine replacement, service said it's about %3 of the cars has such problems but don't you think %3 is a big percentage? 3000 cas out of 100K may have engine problems in 1 year period!

That's incredible if we're really talking a 3% engine failure rate in the early stages. I've never heard of such a thing. Can anyone get more detail on this?

They will replace engine from warranty but they said it will take more than a month for new engine to be shipped and replaced with old one! No substitute cars offered, what a nice customer care!

I suggest you to increase your warranty period if offered because I was told that a new engine will cost more than 50K $ in here.

Sorry to hear this. I only buy cars with warranty anymore. I think during the guarantee period they SHOULD give you a car for the wait. Even with normal service intervals you usually get a Porsche mobility guarantee, so they should give you a car for atleast 5 days even for used cars. This is standard in Europe.

Maybe I am missing something here, but if you have a Panamera with low miles and a bad engine you should get warranty coverage and a loaner or some rental compensation. Was this car sold to you as a new car, or is this a car that you bought on the secondary market?

it took 3 weeks but finally the engine was replaced from warranty, the car is OK now.. I began to wonder what if it will happen again? They didn't investigate the problem deeply to find out what has cuased this.. I hope Porsche is aware of the problem and fixed in the new engines.. My warranty will be off in 6 months, should I sell this car?
