Panamera Wagon Hits the Street

Check it out here: Panamera Wagon Hits the Street

They haven't said that they're building this car yet... But you know they are. It's wildly popular and sexy. There's no reason for them not to.

Personally, I think the current Panamera looks WAY better both inside and out...

The front end looks very nice but the rear not so much, I need to see it more to get used to it.

This car and Audi Avant are the only wagons I will drive. I personally like the rear end of this car better than Panamera because of how "edgy" it is compared to the very round look. The look on this wagon is very explicit and sporty.

Honestly, cars like this are embarrassments to the Porsche badge. Exceptions to the excellence delivered in the 911. Panamera is the 926 of tomorrow.

X100... the rear looks like a Chrysler. Yuck.

Love the rest of the car though...

I personally love it. This is whats so great about Porsche, the ability to create and adapt to the changing design of modern cars.

I suppose you(mtf) don't like the Caymen, or Boxter either?

I don't mean to offend, but I'm from the old-school of Porsche owners. When the company re-assigned the engineers from the GT3 department to work on designing an SUV to satiate Americans (I'm one, btw) craving for large gas guzzlers, I cried sacrilege.

I consider the Boxter to be a throwback to the 914, which found its niche in racing circles.

As unrealistic as it is, I turn my nose up at anything with cupholders. I know I'm a purist and an idealist. Please don't take offense at these rantings. If you were to bring your Cayenne out on the track, I would offer a friendly smile to you in the rear-view mirror of my 1996 993.

I do see the big picture. I know that selling cars like the Cayenne has enabled Porsche to improve budgets for working on the GT3 stuff. I complain about pandering to the American market, but I live in America and am a part of that market.

BTW- did you see that Ferrari is offering a hatchback now? Dark Days for the Prancing Horse....

If I were to go to the track I'd offer YOU a friendly smile to you in the rear-view mirror of my 05' Subaru STi

And yes, the Ferrari hatch I've seen a few on the road locally. The jury is still out on that one lol.

To get back on topic though, I would say I love anything Porsche for the quality and engineering. This includes the Panamera, which will hopefully make an appearance in my garage next year

Oh, most assuredly. The Subaru WRX Sti is an awesome vehicle. I have considered trading out my 993 on several occasions for an STi.

If it does show up in your garage, please post up a review. I'd like to know how it delivers.

Methinks you'll find it to be about the same as your STi, but with leather upholstery and a fancy dash display.... Well, and a lot more curvey... And without the big hood scoop blocking your view... I don't know. They're probably a big upgrade from an STi. But from my perspective, I'd rather have your STi with AWD and everything else it brings..
