Panamera Sport Turbo Shows Off It’s New Assets On the Road

Now we’re getting to see the Sport Turismo on the road driving around like a real car.  Now that might seem pedantic, until you consider that this is one of the first cars we’ve seen from Porsche with their e-hybrid system.

Like everything new and car related, the Sport Turismo is a hybrid. To it’s credit, it’s a hybrid with a 335 hp twin-turbo V6 and 95 hp electric motor. So it’s a hybrid in the Porsche 918 sense,  meaning, that it can run on electricity if you tell it to, or it can use both power sources in tandem. This is still a concept, of course, which helps explain why they’re showing it off as a hybrid. While 430 combined hp is nothing to sneeze at, it would be barely any effort to stick the 4.8 liter V8 from the Panaera S in there. That is if they decide to build it.

It’s hard to see why they wouldn’t, especially when they just announced that they will be introducing new cars in the next few years. Lets hope the Sport Turismo is on the fast track to reality.
