Low coolant warning
Low coolant warning
Happy holidays guys.
My car had low coolant warnings for the past 3 days when i start up the car. it goes away after restarting the car 2-3 times. Engine temp everything look normal after the warning goes away. but scary when the warning comes on, as the engine temp goes all the way to the top when you first start the car.
it has been cold in the past few days in NJ/NYC. I saw a post from before that you just need to add water. Should i get this checked out by the dealer?
Thanks

Same thing happened to my car after it had a thermostat recall done. Apparently there was an air bubble in the system and after bleeding it and refilling, the problem was resolved.
Check to see if your thermostat is bad or was under recall, and if so, that they double check the work.
Definitely have this looked at asap by the dealer though.
good luck.

Tow it back to the dealership, its probably caused by the loosening of the coolant regulator housing. This occurred 4days ago when I was driving on highway when all the sudden the temp shoot's up to max with the low coolant warning. I had to pull over with emergency light without throttle response (scary moment). Its a minor fix and should be covered by warranty, but don't risk it by driving the car anymore before fix. Best of luck
