Cause of brake squeal revealed
Some responses to previous causes for brakes squeaking were "that it's common in Porsches", or that it happens when the linings are around 50%.
The local dealer hears the brake squeak complaint frequently. My brakes squeaking were like a bus at every stop. I was ready to dump the car or at least opt for new linings.
Turned out both front rotors had a circular scratch in them. Possibly from small stones, or inherent defect. Since I bought the car (a 2010) a month ago with a CPO, new rotors and linings were redone, no charge.
Quiet as can be now with every stop.
So if you have bad squeaking, check your rotors...

My PCCB's squeal with the initial touch of the brake pedal but are silent after that.
