Questions about transmission/engine

Bought a 2010 PTT a few weeks ago; 18K miles, CPO. Noticed a few issues after driving for about 1000 miles.

1) When quickly slowing from about 50 mph to stop, occassionally feel a strong" thud" in the back end. One time it felt like i was rear ended.

2) Car is slow to go into reverse when cold.

3) Hesitation/ stuttering with acceleration, does not occur all the time. Caveat: After washing car; noticed that water was pooling under gas cap due to plugged drain. Blew drain out with air compressor; dumped 2 cans of gas dryer in tank. Seems somewhat better. Do i need to have dealer inspect further for other fuel related issues due to potential water in tank?

I have read a few threads on this problem here and elsewhere- not sure what is to be expected on this issue

Hi bobolouie,

Is this happening in sport plus or the comfort setting? In SPlus i expect a more aggressive downshift, but not in comfort mode.

Good catch on cleaning out the fuel filler drain, but I wouldn't think this to be causing it, if the fuel were contaminated I think you would see problems all the time or at least on acceleration.

I am running an S model since new and from time to time the tyranny does interesting things, but mainly when I have make awkward gear change and throttle change at the same time.

As it is a CPO car I think you should get it checked out by the sellers shop if that's possible.

Good luck, interested to hear what you find out! It's a great car so I hope all is ok with yours,

It's not just you... my PTT is very similar, downshifts can be awkward to say the least and the car can feel odd on part throttle... Here's my reply to another similar thread:

If you find an "answer" do let us all know...

I had the problem with the pdk slamming into 2nd gear when downshifting with the ACC on.
The Dealership had to recalibrate the transmission. After the 1st recalibration the thud disappeared but the car was slow to respond and felt like the clutch was slipping. I just had it reprogramed again 8/15/13 and now it seems everything is shifting fine.
