2011 Panamera Service Campaigns

I took my 2011 Panamera 4 for its 40,000 mile service and found four things very surprising 1. There were 4 service campaigns, one of which requires the entire engine head to come off. 2. It will take 4 days to do the service and campaigns. 3. The 40k service cost $1800. 4. The 2014 cayman loaner they put me in has a whopping price tag of $69,000....

For real??? Damn, wouldn't wanna be hitting that 40k mark!

Any other Panamera owners with the same experience?

Don't know about the recall, but the cost of the 40k service scared me with my 2011, which also needed tires and brakes.. That's why I switched out on the pull forward problem... 40k service, tires (20") and brakes is $4800 to $5200 proposition.

Same here, with past experiences with Porsche, I always buy maintenance programs.

Tom, I wasn't offered any maintenance program. Please describe what it covers. What was the price.
Thanx, Mike

I was offered the maintenance plan for about $3500 when i purchased new, however in doing so i would have only saved about $300, over the course of the 50k warranty period. I paid about $600 for the 10k service, 600 for the 20, 700 for the 30k, and 1800 for the 40k services...total of about $3700. However you can roll the price of the service plan into your financing.

Any idea what the 40k service entails? What are we getting for the $1800 bucks. I am at 38k miles now.

8,000 miles later, no issues with the cam shaft replacement, or any other maintenance issues (knock on wood). All is good and I'm still loving my Panamera after 3 years of ownership. Recommend all 2011 Pan 4 owners inquire about recalls...I was made aware of the recalls only after taking my car in for the 40k service, which i ended up getting done at the 37,000 mile point so that i could go ahead get the recalls done immediately.

Aren't they required to notify vehicle owners for recalls? You don't get the recalls done because your vehicle happens to be there for other things.

They certainly are supposed to notify you.
