PASM and ride height
PASM and ride height
OK, I don't think I'm smoking crack... can someone remind me on the Panamera's PASM settings. I have a 2011 4S and I do have the air suspension.
In sport mode, or pressing the PASM shock button, isn't the car supposed to lower like 10mm? Then is Sport Plus mode, the car is supposed to go evern lower, like 1.25" lower than comfort setting (fully raised).
My question is is that I always drive my car in "Sport Mode" and with the Suspension on the "Sport" setting (The suspension button pressed once). Isn't the ride height supposed to be lower than the comfort setting ride height? I always thought it dropped when hitting the button. The reason I ask is becasue it doesnt do it anymore and I SWEAR it did.

Here is Porsche's description of the Pan's PASM air suspension functionality. From the below explanation, it seems the suspension only lowers in Sport Plus mode; only shock absorber dampening is adjusted between Comfort and Sport modes.....
Three different chassis setups can be selected at the push of a button:
– "PASM Comfort"
– "PASM Sport"
– "PASM Sport Plus"
Comfort mode ensures comfortable chassis tuning.
The "PASM Sport" chassis setup offers very sporty shock absorber tuning.
"PASM Sport Plus" mode offers particularly sporty shock absorber tuning (e.g. for driving on the race circuit). The vehicle is also lowered by approx. 1 in. (25 mm) compared with the normal level and the spring rate is increased.
In addition to manual mode selection, PASM also adjusts shock absorber tuning for either sporty or comfort driving, depending on the driving situation.

Sorry Motorhead but with only sport mode, it doesn't lower the car at all. It only firms up the suspension.
That is why many people make sure to get the sport plus mode so the car drops itself with the air suspension.
