Keith....that 991 TTS is going to be hard to beat my man....Even if a DD, I still think I would get that one if I could. Looks gorgeous, yet angry, and supposedly will put down some amazingly enhanced performance over the prior model.

So now I'm thinking about the Panamera. Can the Panamera serve as a DD? The hatch design looks practical, can it haul a 50" TV? And more importantly, does it drive like a 911? Thanks!
I have a 2012 PTT, it is a great daily driver. My son plays travel Ice Hockey and baseball, so I always have stuff in the back and we are usually car pooling with other players. Kids love to show up to the rink or field in a PTT!

It is a very practical daily driver. It is "not" a 911 and while it drives great for a big heavy 4 door AWD car, it does not have the fun and feel of a 911. The Panny GTS is the closest you will get, but still a 4,500 lb car. If you need the space the Panamera can't be beat.

Before the PTT as my DD I have driven an M5 (1988, 1993, 1997 M3, 2000, 2003, 2006) as a daily driver since 1988. I prefer the M5 steering to the PTT, other than that the PTT is a better car in every way and the rear hatch affords more space.

I recently sold my 2009 997 TT cab and I found that when I drove it I was always switching cars to address family issues and found it sitting most of the time. Just for fun on weekends. It was my first Cab after having GT3 RS, GT2, etc.. I bought the cab as my wife would not drive the GT cars, too low and too worried about scraping driveway etc. She would drive the TT cab.

If you have another vehicle (3rd vehicle) like an SUV to drive and you don't haul people around at work the 991 TT will be a great option for a DD.

I think the best options to consider are the Audi S7, RS7 or the Panny GTS or Turbo. Panny is a lot more $. Audi 7 is even more practical than the Panny, a mountain of space! M5 and new M6 4 door are fast, but are soft and luxury cars. S63 is great, but is is a luxury car. The new M5 trunk is a joke compared to the Audi 7 or Panny.

Good luck finding what you want. You will be very happy with a Panamera versus other 4 door car options.

Not often. Hauling a TV is one of my arbitrary gauges for utility usefulness.

I think if you get the GTS it would be very close to the 911, and then in a few years after the Panny is paid for get the 911. At least that is my current plan.

I think that if You buy a car from Porsche, they should let you purchase the second car at half price!

Either car will be a compromise in our current situation, it's just which compromise will it be for you...?
Big conundrums we have! Difficult choice, or choices!

I was in the same situation but ended up with one of each. Even today, there is no substitute for each model. Porsche does a good job in making each model different enough and I switch one to another daily. If there is only one car, I would choose the Cayenne turbo for DD. With PCCB, PDDC & PTV, the Cayenne turbo is hard to beat. I went to the Porsche event and got on the Cayenne turbo with an instructor driving around the track, I almost **** my pant and was totally amazed with what the Cayenne can really do.

I don't know how much you really push the car, but Panamera as amazing as it is, it is no where close to the 911 in direct response and control feel. Just my 2 cents
