EvomsiT vs. ?

I just bought a 2012 PTT and traded in my 2011 CTT and love the PTT so much better. I have done the BMC air filter and the EvomsiT piggy back and love the extra power but was wondering if anyone has gone from a piggy back system to a GAIC system and if so what were the results?

Welcome, I just traded out my '12 CTT for a '14 GTS and love it so far...I do miss the punch periodically! I had an EVOMS piggy back on my CTT and ran into some problems with the harness. In general, I think you're better off with an ECU reprogram because the source code is altered rather than changing the code at the harness.

Cheers

It was nuts, it felt like the tranny was slipping at first and then it would randomly go into "safe mode" and I would need to restart it. After it did it the 3rd time, I had it towed to the dealer and they said that the fault codes were coming from the harness where they piggyback was plugged in. They unplugged it and reprogrammed the ECU and all was fine. That made me a bit gunshy on going back to piggyback.....although I have a GTS now and it's not an issue.

Good to know thanks! I'll keep an eye on it. Enjoy the GTS, I almost went that route but got a great deal on this and it's hard loaded.

I've had mine for close to a year and while at the beginning it gave me some problems (does not really like the early '10) I love the thing now.

Peace of mind when I take it back to the dealer, as I just unplug it and there is no way to claim anything.

It's perfect in my book.

Did you do any other mods besides the evom tune?
Is there a noticeable difference than stock with only a tune?
Thanks

Take it from me. At the beginning, the first 100 miles I did not see a thing, unless I really hit the gas pedal.

After the first 100 miles, the NON sport/sport plus setting, meaning NORMAL setting, feels like sport, sport + now is scary fast.

You DO feel the extra power with this mod, 100% guaranteed. I do not have anything else other than the BMC and I had it without it for like a year, so I know the car before and after very well. There 2 different beasts before and after.

I've heard very good things about FVD tunes
the draw back is the ECU needs to ship to Germany
5 days down without car

I'm surprised to hear you didn't feel a difference at first.. It should be a solid 50 more horses I thought, which should be felt.

Does it not tune it right away and does it gradually?

Remember that there is a period of learning/adaptation from the ECU. After this, the ECU understands the new signals and "gets used" to the new device.

Evom
GIAC
Fvd

and will tune alone add 80-100 hp?

Here's a thread with some more information about the GIAC software for the Panamera Turbo. We've flashed dozens of Panamera Turbos and have literally never heard one complaint.

https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...urbo-here.html

Unlike the various piggy-back software offerings out there (which are done because the Panamera ECU is un-flashable to most people)....GIAC flashes directly into the ECU itself. This allows them to maintain complete control over every performance parameter, rather then only what they can control from the output at harness. This type of ECU is the future of Porsche....as we're seeing with the new 991S and 991 Turbo cars. This is why you really only see GIAC paving the way with the newer model cars...they have the technology to flash the new ECU's that others don't.

So it's correct to assume that with ecu tune and plenum hp will increase by approx 80hp? why the need for down pipes and bmc filter then?
doesn't seem like you get that much more hp for a big cost.
