I was told PSS are not "N" rated. Only the PS2 are "N" rated. Is this true and if so what is the "N" give me?

that is not true, unless Tire Rack has misprints on their website

Only real difference is that Porsche has "approved" certain tires I have previously used other non-N rated tires, and never had an issue. So, buy what you like IMHO

Jon
N is specially developed for Porsche, different from Standard. You may have warranty issues if You Are not using Porsche Approved N tires Also Car Can handle differently, probably only at the Limit.

My car is out of warranty but I still don't know what the "N" rating really provides us other than Porsche approved. My dealer and a local tire shop told me the PSS are not "N" rated and the PS2 are. So does the "N" mean stiffer side walls, higher than "Z" rated for speed or what exactly does the "N" mean??

My dealer read to me a FAQ on N rating. Means is built to Porsche specs, as to weight, sidewalk, width, tread etc. I don't think there is a significant difference in N vs non N but of course I would go with porsche and hopefully gain what they think is best performing on the car which is N rated. If PSS is not N rated, I might perhaps go PS2. But- since it is now an approved tire from Porsche, it certainly is available in N ratings.

I've been on NO rated PSS for about 2 weeks now. WOW. Much more grip than my worn PS2. I feel like I have a Porsche again. Consequently I drive harder and harder every day. These tires are even better than their stellar reputation.

Each new 'N' number marks a revision to the tires.

Are you on the stock 20's? If so, what cold tire pressures have you found give you the best all around handling on the PSS? Also, what model panny are you in?

So it seems reasonable to assume by all the posts and reviews that the PS2 and PSS is far superior to the Pzero. Driving around last 2 days with 3 passengers, wife in back says to me "there is something wrong with your car, it's wobbling/shaking from side to side, not balance. Feels like back end gonna swing out".. Just had alignment and balance in Wednesday at Dealer just before I picked up car from other issues (see front end noises thread). Also bounces around the road in certain places even though pavement is smooth as silk with other cars I've driven. Would ps2 or PSS resolve this do you think? What exactly will I experience, difference wise, with these tires? Water day was wet out and rainy all day. Rear end does swing out a bit in a slight hydroplane when turning. Keep in mind I have 7/32 left in all 4. Shouldn't be doing this. It was fully controllable, however. I'd like to get more mileage out of these (about 6000 now) before I plop down 1800 on a new set of PSS. I shouldn't have to, yet. When you all say they are quieter, are we talking tire noise or other noises as well? Is it a softer ride with equal handling?

Whatever feedback you can provide other than they are significantly better would be appreciative. Thanks
