Back seat of State Patrol Car...

It is never good when you see this view but for cold Feb. morning in Seattle, not too bad...
On my way to work and my 2010 pan. 4S tells me Decreased power or something like that and no more power. Managed to pull over to shoulder and had to get my car towed. I used to make fun nice cars on flat bed of a towing car but now i know how that feels. Had a nice chat with patrol officer in his back seat waiting for a towing truck. Had this happen to any one of you guys? this error message?

Sorry to hear that. Curious to hear what will cause a "decreased power" message from this engine. Please update when you know more information

Final input...
When I got this message, i had 14 miles left on the range, needle was above the light. Told the service tech what has happen and was told that I should not drive the car. When the man with AR15 showed up, he wanted to try adding gas but service tech told me i should just have it towed in. (40miles away from dealer)
I just received a call that the fule gauge needs to be re calibrated since my car was in fact just out of gas. Wife just told me, don't trust my car and fill the car before the light comes on....
It may just be me but why do I have the desire to test and push the car....
It worked for Top Gear guys.....

I never drive below 1/4 tank, also refill when I get to that point. You'll never know if you need to drive somewhere in emergency or rush and don't have time to go refuel.

My rule of thumb is 1/2 tank.
