Good luck with MBUSA. I left the brand for BMW. MBUSA just doesnt care if you drive a $10K mercedes or a $150 K mercedes. Worst experience ever. I got as far as conversation with the president of MBUSA (which is very hard to make it happen).
NEVER AGAIN IM going back to benz because the Brand doesnt care.
Yes, I also had one of those sucky dealers that broke something in my car and they said it was there. That is why I took it to the higher hierarchy. But no help. I sold the car 2 weeks after getting nowhere.
I will not take another Mercedes - event if it was free.

BMW is working out for me very well so far. Im extremely happy.
My CPO was about to end and the dealer fixed all the stuff that will go wrong withing next 50K miles. Things were not even broken but they changed it anyway. GO BMW!!!!

I'm not sure I'd compare to a Bentley in terms of Poshness, BUT, rather than compare up, lets compare down. Lexus, BMW, Audi, heck, even Honda (not dissing those cars, comparing price only). Barring the unusual, none of these vehicles make the noises I'm hearing. As I'm typing this, I'm remembering my drive yesterday with the tech manager. He heard the ticking rattling on or near the steering wheel and passenger door. Once he started driving, he started to focus on it as "annoying", and also heard one from driver door. LOL. I felt repented! I explained that the days these are not present, others are. I "think" he may have gotten the message I've been trying to relay to them. I know rattles can be fixed for the most part, but how many times do I have to keep taking it in? interior rattles are annoying, but they are not my main concern here. I also do not want a new car that needs to be rebuilt, so to speak.
The 5'er is great so far - thanks for asking. And glad to hear they are making good progress with your car. I think you'll find the lower control arms solve a lot of your problems. That was the final step in getting my front end quieted down.

Are you concerned that replacing the PDK will hurt the resale value on the car? Something to consider.

With respect to comparing to Bently - not my observation, but many automotive journalists have gone there. Sure, it's definitely not as posh, but the car IS sold as an ultra luxury personal sedan. I agree with you, I wouldnt' expect a honda accord to make the noises these early Panny's do and for the kind of coin people drop on the car, I doubt Panny owners would either. My 5'er certainly doesn't have any of the noises the Panny made. I'm not saying it's a better car either - the Panny did some things better, but the 550 does have attributes that are better as well.

Looking forward to your next update @wassy.

Decision was made to replace PDK! Should be here today and car ready Monday, I'm told.

MackSea, yes I am concerned about resale value. Not so much that it has a zero mile PDK, but pulling service records certainly would scare me away from this car regardless of whether it's all fixed now. That is why I am not happy with just the repairs. If you read another thread recently, I'm contemplating trading it for a 2013 demo PTT. Same mileage as mine but a quick test drive is showing me a quiet car. I have a deposit hold in it and am awaiting PCNA's help if any. Hoping to hear today but I think it will be next week. I don't mind coming out of pocket with a "reasonable" small sum to 1, get me out of this problem and 2, into something better (quicker). I don't need the speed but the numbers are working out pretty good.

Well, that might be a great upgrade. Haven't seen any of the issues we have experienced with our Panny's with the Turbos.
