Horn "BEEP BEEP" during door lock. DISABLE??

Hey guys,

I have found no definitive answer as to wether or not the "BEEP BEEP" can be disabled without having to go to the dealer? I come home late sometimes and I know the horn is pissing off my sleeping neighbors. Its hard for me to get the time to head in to the dealer to have it disabled.

Anyone found a way to disable it them self? Im sure I could just unplug the horn but I do use it on occasion. This is very annoying.

Mine goes beep beep but it not a horn. Just some electronic beep beep sound. Its way to quiet. I just wish it was louder. I can hardly hear it whenever it does beep beep. Sometimes I dont even know if I locked it with because I can hardly hear it.
I wish it came with a horn. (opposite to your problem

Strange. I have a 2011 P4 and my BEEP BEEP sound like a different tone than my actual horn when I press it. Im guessing it has a high and a low horn combined when I press the horn. When I lock the doors the BEEP BEEP is likely the high horn only. Its definitely not electronic sounding. Hmmmm may have to hit up the dealer if no one here has a solution. Thanks for the feedback

I am pretty sure it is like my '14 cayman s was - a separate horn. It sounds just like it. Anyway if it is (and I expect it is) you can simply replace that horn with a piezo buzzer and make it modern.

Apparently mine came with the self canceling option......it just stopped sounding the beep when the lock button is pushed. The lights flash and the little red light on the door card flashes. The horn works as normal when you push the steering wheel........

Yes -- the horn for the alarm is actually phsycially different than the horns for "honking" -- Whenever I get time I will be doing this mod for sure!

Car is going to the shop Monday.......all lights flash like normal when you lock but no horn and realize the drivers door doesn't lock. Also the tailgate remote doesn't open.

Turns out it was the drivers door lock mechanism, guess it's the brain of the system. They have replaced it so all should be good.

The Panamera alarm horn is just behind the passenger front tire in the wheel well. I didn't like the little beep/beep sound so I just unplugged it.

The 2 horns for honking at BMW owners are on either side of the airbox up under the bumper.

I’m fairly sure that the purpose of the beep-beep is to let you know the car is locked and secure, if it doesn’t beep then that indicates that one or more doors/hatch is not properly closed.

I believe 2011 cars are the only ones with a horn like “honk” sound. All other years seem to a more discreet sounding electronic “beep”.

Our 2012 Pana4 has a real horn for the alarm. 2 beeps when you lock it. Here's a pic if anyone is really curious.
