Wife drove off with Gas nozzle in my Pan GTS
My wife drove away from the gas pump with the nozzle still in the tank my Panni GTS 2013. There was no exterior damage but now when I go to fill the car the Gas nozzle kicks off when I try to full throttle the gas. I have to trickle the gas in at a very low pressure to fill it up. It takes about 20 to fill. Any ideas what damage was done internally? The care is still under the 100,000 mile warranty.
I have a friend who's wife did the same thing, though not in a Panny. The car had the same problem though and if I remember the dealer told him that the pump handle bent out a little portion of the filler tube. Cars today are very sensitive to the correct way the gas needs to go in and shut off at the slightest thing.

Sounds like not a minor repair that a shop or dealer could do... my Carrera S has a similar issue - clicks off gas nozzle all the time while filling, I have to baby it to fill it, PITA...

Sorry about that. Just a suggestion came to mind which I read off the 997 forum a couple of years back (if my recollection is correct): have you tried filling it with the pump handle rotated to the side/perpendicular? Some 997 owners had complained the pump would repeatedly shut off before the tank was filled up. Some folks overcame this by holding the pump at a different angle which apparently overcame the stop trigger. I honestly don't think it would solve your issue but it's worth a try while waiting to get things addressed definitely
+1
Did an attendant fill the GTS or was it self-service? Hard to understand how the mishap occurred, but lucky nobody was hurt and nothing worse happened.
I wonder if after putting in the gas nozzle, you pulled it outward about an inch or so. It used to be a trick that worked when any ol' car would have those nozzles click off.
Otherwise, like others say, get it checked out.
Also, get your wife a very used Camry or Jetta.

I agree with this - I just can't see you collecting any warranty on your spouse; they are generally uninsurable anyway
