Custom tail lights - two layers of Lamin-x
Custom tail lights - two layers of Lamin-x
I was curious to know if any of the board members have used Lamin-x red for clear blinker only on the tail lights and then used smoked tint over entire tail light. I'm looking to buy pre-cut pieces from Lamin-x and do this myself.
My other option would be to take my tail lights to the shop and have them painted, but I'm not comfortable doing so as if I don't like the result i'd have to live them, where with film you simply peel it off.
I'd appreciate some photos if you have them. Currently I'm thinking of going with Lamin-X gunsmoke for an OEM look of newer Panameras with smoked tail lights option. I do not want to go to dark, I want to achieve dark red colors.

What I have heard of is people smoking the red Lamin-X. So get yourself the red Lamin-X and apply it across the whole tail. Then have a shop smoke it. Hope that helps. The only problem I'd see with double layers of Lamin-X is bubbling or peeling and of course the noticeable layering.
I guess I should try calling Lamin-x and asking them how their product would hold up against each other. I was thinking of only applying red lamin-x to the clear corner part of the tail light and not the entire tail light.
