Porsche is pretty much going the other way, though. Current rumors are that NA flat-6 911's, Caymans, etc. are going to become turbo flat-4's.

You might see Boxster and Cayman sales go in the tank with these flat-4 engines.

Eh, the 944 sold well enough back in the day, and that was powered by an inline four. Far more than 911's in the same production years.

It's funny now, looking at the history of cars I thought were "fast" and "expensive" back in the day, and how they compare to today's cars.

Looked at a few 2014 PTT, which is the refreshed and somewhat better sorted out car. But they run around 135K, and i was offered 55K for mine at the dealer
I was curious so I did a quick search on the NADA guide for your car. I am not sure how the guide compares to the black book value - but it looks like 55k is the trade value for an average condition '10 PTT before a credit for your relatively low mileage. For what it's worth :

I am pretty sure the all new 2016 Panny will have a turbo S Hybrid. It will be a monster. Dont waste your money, wait 2 years. If it werent for tax change rumors in my country, I wouldnt have yet swapped to a BMW i8. Mechanically the 2010 and 2014 are not different enough to warrant the HUGE money difference.

Do you have any sources for that? I'd love to see that personally, but that doesn't mean Porsche management is thinking along those lines.

Based on a rumor that some Porsche will have a strong hybrid engine in about 2 years and rumors of a 911 and Panamera Turbo S Hybrid according to some magazines. The timeline fits the new Panamera first. They will want to use the 918 Spyder technology to get investments back in the near future. Also Panamera has served a test platform for first hybrid, the current interior etc...
