2014 GTS vs. 2013 PTT
2014 GTS vs. 2013 PTT
I'm curious what anyone might think about the 2013 PTT vs the 2014 GTS. The PTT is actually less dollars ($20k) and has 13k more miles. It is equipped with Sport Package Plus (PV, PDCC, Sport Exhaust, Sport Chrono+ and Adaptive CC), Burmeister, Comfort Plus, and upgraded wheels in exterior color, full two-tone leather. $165 Original Sticker.
The GTS has PDCC, PDLS, Comfort Plus, Turbo II wheels, Bose, full leather. $133 original sticker.
I happen to like the color of the GTS better. The PTT is Agate Gray. I liked driving them both, though it has been awhile. The PTT made the torque on the GTS seem low, but the GTS seemed very integrated and more 'sports car-like'. The GTS has just over 3 years left on the warranty and the PTT has 2 years left.
I'd love to hear input. Given the price point of the Turbo, i think it will depreciate less than the GTS.
Many thanks.

I just went through this as I have a PTT and was thinking of trading for a GTS. It was an even trade of my 2014 for a new 2015. Financially I should have done it but I never. I liked the speed and options on the PTT too much. I kept the PTT.
With the age I would calculate in an extended warranty if you plan to keep very long as that will be expensive.
Insurance is also more on the PTT probably.

Ptt rides smoother with a better more compliant suspension. It handles well enough with the PDCC but isn't harsh and bumpy like the GTS.
You can add downpipes (bypass pipes) to reduce turbo lag and add torque and more V8 rumble sound similar to the GTS. This mod will cost under 800 and will give no drone or issues at all.
You can also do a piggy back tune or similar for another 90hp/tq.
The torque is fun and enjoyable.
The Burmester is epic. Had it on my CTT and have yet to hear a system half as good.

You can't go wrong; however one other thing to consider is the additional PDK mapping updates on 2014 and newer models. The GTS might show itself to be better and more crisp from a shifting perspective.
Funny that the 2014 0-60 speed is specified as slightly slower than the 2013. Even with 10 more hp. I wonder why that is.
I thought it was 0.1 sec quicker. 4.3 sec down to 4.2. In reality it's 4.0.
I ended up purchasing the 2013 PTT. It is really well equipped and I am loving it in its first few days with me. When I spoke to the dealer who performed the PPI, I asked him about the differences between a 2013 and 2014 PTT (not GTS, as originally asked in my post). He said the cars (other than cosmetics) were virtually identical. So, I really am curious about whether the PDK really has been mapped differently in the later year.
If the mapping is different, is it something one could have updated via software?

You're right. I kept hearing the '13 could do 0-60 in 4.1 and thought that was the advertised number, but it was actually 4.3.
