My 2014 PTT assessment

Sitting at 7500 miles. I absolutely enjoy driving this car. I do oscillate between 911 and Panamera, almost on a daily basis. No car is perfect, and of course the Panamera has its shortfalls...but there are days when I get home after driving it and I think "holy #@%$ this car is unbelievable".

My 991S had PDCC and PDK, and even then I would find myself burying the pedal at times...I felt it needed another 30-50 hp and another 30-50 ft-lb of torque- to me that was its shortfall- and the Bose system sucked- so perhaps maybe the 991.2 will address what I thought was a power shortfall. Great engine, just needed a little more beef.

In the power department, the PTT is unbelievable, whether you tracked it or in everyday situations. The low-end torque is nuts and driveability is awesome. If mine had Burmester and PDCC it might be 99% perfect. That said, PDCC is a 'driver's aid' and adds a tad of weight.

However I hope Porsche is listening when I say they should make PTV standard on every model above the S. The PDCC is more personal preference.

The key to getting into this car's cornering abilities is to mount summer tires and understand the car's weight shift, as well as when to apply power in a turn. Getting a bit into the throttle makes the car bite down in the corners, and it also reduces body roll. Car corners pretty darn flat anyway in Sport Plus suspension setting. IMO it could stand to be lowered another 5-10 mm. The suspension definitely talks to you; it's all in how to drive it.

Bose and brakes are IMO better in the turbo than my 991 was. PDK is very well sorted.

When 991.2 comes out, I'll give it a look, but it will have a lot to live up to...

Samp is infamous around these parts
I love my my14 PTT also. It screams. I love the low end. I get to drive it some but it is my wife's car sooo. My MY14 C4S2 is a great trade off and I still can steal hers when needed. Going from hers to mine definitely shows the lack of power. I know mine is supposed to be faster in a straight line but I am not sure and would not be willing to test it.
