You always want a snow tire to be as narrow as possible. The 19s can help with this. Also, 19s are far cheaper and have a larger selection when it comes to snow tires for our cars.

Suncoast also sets wheels with snow tires premounted.

I see about 50/50 sales of Michelin vs the Pirelli. The Michelins will give a bit better deeper snow traction but the Pirelli feels a bit more like an all season tire on dry days. If needing to drive in deep snow, I would go with the Michelins. Please call me if I can help.

........and NO, August is NOT too early to be thinking about this

Did you have any issues with aftermarket TPMS? Or did you go with Porsche sensors?

I have the Alpins on 19"s - drove through some pretty bad snow storms in the cottage country here in Ontario last winter, couldn't be happier.

Keep in mind however that Porsche changed the tpms units for panameras in 2014 (?) -- make sure you buy the right version.

Thought you guys might want to see what my eBay find + powdercoating turned into no better way to get cheap Porsche Genuine parts looking good! And, it has already snowed in the mountains, so after my next trip - they will be getting the Alpins and going on the car.
