How do we open rear hatch if battery is dead?

How do we open rear hatch if battery is dead? I couldn't find the relevant section in the manual. Can someone help point this out? Thanks!

Try this (below). Otherwise it the battery is completely dead, apply power via the battery terminal posts under the front hood, first.

From the manual...sorry the picture didn't copy / paste

Emergency operation of tailgate

If the tailgate still cannot be opened (e.g. if the vehicle battery is discharged), the emergency operation must be performed:

Fold the rear seat backrests forward.
Please see the chapter “FOLDING REAR SEATS FORWARD AND RETURNING TO UPRIGHT POSITION”.
Enter into the luggage compartment via the folded-down rear seats.
Unclip the light A on the inside of the tailgate (on left in direction of travel).
The release cable for opening the tailgate is located in the trim above the light.
Unclip the emergency release cable from the bracket B and pull in direction of arrow.
You will hear an unlocking noise. The tailgate can then be opened by hand.
Clip the emergency release cable in the bracket and then clip in the light.

Look in the index under "tailgate" - should be towards the end of the discussion on opening and closing (page 30 or so??)

It's too cold to go out to te garage for my paper manual. I copied the posted information from an app my salesman shared with me when I purchased my car in November. You can find out about it here:

It's called "Good to Know"

http://www.porsche.com/usa/accessori...leinformation/

I downloaded the app to my iPad, but I can't recall if I needed a "key" or password from my dealer to make the app work.

Or download a pdf of the owner's manual.

I just looked at the link that you posted to the PDF manual, but could not find the section last911 quoted in there at all.

The link is for a 970.1 Panamera. The information I passed along was from media for a 970.2 (2014+) Panamera. I suspect the newer models have an updated owner's manual.
