Went to Porsche Experience center/Atlanta--drove a PTTS.
My family and I went to the Porsche experience center in Atlanta to fulfill my wife's Xmas present she gave me last year.
First, I will say if you as a Porsche lover, have not been, please find a way to go as you will not regret it. It is everything porsche...the cars, the food, museum, store, etc....
I decided to drive the PTTS which is the car I have. I wanted to further develop my skills with this car. I had a great "driving coach" and he was very cool. The track is a road track about 1.2 miles with many twists and turns along with different elevations and slight embankments. It was awesome.. once he became comfortable with me, he let me go at higher speeds around the track.
We did the launch control about 5 times... I had never done this, and WOW... just awesome, and the braking was unbelievable from this launch.
The wet course was eye opening. It causes you to slide and teaches you to correct the car under wet conditions. This was a blast... at first, I didn't do so good, but after about 2-3 tries, I had it down. There is a real process to this.
There is a round track which teaches you how to "drift" and also to handle the car under wet conditions. This was fun, but probably the most difficult to master.
I had a chance to talk to my "coach" for a while, and he said of all the cars, the panamera was his favorite. He felt it handled so well with the AWD, and the extra weight helped with the stability of the car. He did not have great things to say about the handling of the Cayman/Boxter especially under wet conditions.
Thought you all would like to hear about it... you must go if you have not!

Any thoughts? Think I'm better off sticking with the ptt? I'm trying to test drive a 997 tts asap, but would love to hear opinions in the mean time!
Awesome! I didn't even know we had a facility like this in North America. This is on my to do list with a PTT as well.
