Please Throw Some Light On This Issue

Hello guys,

I have a 14 Panamera with 17k mikes. Engine is factory stock. Does not have any mods to the car computer or chip

My problem is that when I'm driving and then stop for example at a red light the RPMs drop for a few seconds to around 600 or little less and then the engine vibrates, you can feel it on the seat, steering wheel and also you can listen to the exhaust note that rumbles a little bit and then goes back to "normal", the RPM rise to normal level. This happen very fast in a few seconds but I still have a little bit of a rough idle

This happend every time I stop at a red light, or at a cross or when ever I need to stop, its very annoying on heavy traffic when you are driving slow and braking, each time I'm feeling this vibration..like when your driving manual and not engaging gear correctly

I noticed, if I put the car in neutral before the complete stop, the car brakes beautifully, no vibration at all car smooth ..

remember the car was fine but after one day at the Stealership for a transmission reset adaptation or whatever its called I started to noticed this.

thank you for reading and hopefully someone can help me out

If you have the auto stop function activated, you might try turning it off and see if it still does that. Or try sport mode and see if that changes anything! A lot of weird things start acting up when you battery voltage never gets up to charge and a two year old battery could be the source of the problem! I just had my 14 PS in for service and there were several computer updates required, so you might also call your service advisor and check the status of your car! Good luck in trouble shooting the problem, but for sure it should idle smoothly at a stop!

Thanks so much, all this time I've been thinking its a posibility the battery or a voltage regulator as my rpms drop with anything I touch, I never get a full charge its always around 60-70% but dealer told me last year that everything was fine and that was normal vehicle operation..

Auto stop is always off, with sport mode I do get the same vibration..

Also I was thinking maybe the pdk needs some calibration I do get some times a lot of clunks but again no CEL no one takes the time to look at anything.

The Panamera seems to be a battery sensitive beast! Their are some very good battery charger/maintainers out there that you plug into the cigarette lighter and will charge and recondition the battery overnight.CTEK makes a few under $100 that will bring that battery back in most cases! I do this to mine every few months! If you drive short distances most often, that battery will deplete and you might want to leave the charger on several times a week in the maintain mode! That's where I would start first!

I believe the Porsche maintainer is actually made by CTEK. Check Amazon, you can order and have it delivered in 2 days and save money and a trip! The one I have is CTEK 4.3 MULTI US.

Battery is good, fully charged with Ctek, what else to look for, vacuum leak?

There is not much any of us can check ourselves with these computer controlled Panameras! Your next step probably should be back to the dealer and have them make sure all the updates are installed and it should be pretty easy to show them the idle problem! There are so many sensor all over that car, and who knows if a bad sensor, coil, vacuum leak, spark plug, or flux capacitor could be the problem! Good luck and when you get an answer be sure to let us know how it turns out!

Bad thing, now a days Dealers won't do anything if you don't have a CEL they will tell me the idle is ok.

I was thinking having the car inspected by an indy shop, I did replaced the spark plugs at 14k one of them had the insulator with cracks and missing a part of it, I missed one of the back plugs hard to get it out, 5 in total, car runs better but still I get the vibration everytime I Lift foot off the brake

Damn! I have the same issue! This is so anoying, everytime i stop it feels like the engine is stopping...since 3 days i got another issue... If i accelerate at maximum i hear some noise when the rpm raises at 5000 and till 7000 when its changing, a very strange noise like a plane is taking off, did u found the problem?

never, I traded the car last week.. Porsche warranty sucks, I had a minor leak on my A/C compressor and I was told that it was under Porsche specs... next car won't be a Porsche that's for sure.

what is your issue? when you stop is like the brake and the transmission are not synchronized.. your rpm drops you get some vibration for 1-2 seconds and then goes back up to normal..

Do you have the engine stop function turned off. Bottom right of center switches. Red Light should ne ON.

nothing to do with auto start, this a drop on engine RPM when coming to a stop and then a fully recovery with some erratic idle when car is not moving... Also idle drops when moving steering wheel or any electric switch
