13 year old Panamera Turbo (thinking about the future)
Been reading the forum for a long time, first post. I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on a really nice 2011 Panamera Turbo with 24K miles, tons of options: Sport package (Adaptive air suspension with Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, Sport Chrono, Sport Exhaust system), Comfort package plus (Adaptive Cruise Control, ParkAssist front and rear with reversing camera, more), Burmeister, etc. Car is from a dealer and has two year CPO. Asking price is $72K, might get a little off. Car is in immaculate condition.
Here is my dilemma: car build date is 09/2010, and I typically buy a 2 year/20K mile car that I love and keep for 7 years and put 10K/year on. I'm imagining that in 7 years, I will have a 13 year old car with 100K on it. Should I be worried about reliability and maintenance in the next 7 years? I'm coming from a 2007 BMW 530 I've had for 8 years with hardly any problems.
It is an awesome car, but my other alternative is to get a much lesser optioned 2013/14 Base or S, have some more peace of mind. Decisions, decisions. . .

I wouldn t touch a car like this without it being under some sort of warranty. If it s warrantied while you own it then no worries. We all know the crazy repair costs that can come up. Maint not as much as an issue if you are handy or avoid the dealer. At least that s predictable . I was in the same boat and got a nicely optioned Pana 4 (15). Just my 2 cents.

I agree with other poster about having a warranty, car may be trouble free but if you have an issue on a transmission or engine it can easily cost $15,000-$20,000 so I'm not sure I would be willing to roll the dice on that.

I have had my 2012 Turbo for 18 months now... not one issue... car is flawless.
Btw... I'm trading it in on a M5 leasein 1.5 months... they're not giving me much so I'd be willing to let it go for what they are offering me.
My friend is also selling his 2012 turbo S with 3 more years of CPO warranty left... he dropped his price dramatically yesterday...
PM me if anyone is interested. Both cars look like new and run like new.

I got my 2012 PTT new in Oct. 2011. I have 36,000. miles on it with only 1 warranty event two years ago; a broken radiator coupling. I love the car and wanted to keep it, but there is no reasonable extended warranty coverage available and as mentioned by others these babies are very expensive to repair. My service manager said these turbo's are prone to air suspension problems which can run around 9K to fix.
I ordered a new Macan GTS to replace the Turbo.
