Who wants air suspension?
Maybe I m a little ignorant and I m not raining on any ones parade but who wants and even wants to pay more for Porsche s or any manufactures air ride systems? I read all the time on the failure rate and the cost of repair.
I have had a 911 and Panamera both without the system and have not missed it at all. I have driven and owned air ride systems cars such as MB.
What am I missing and why would any one want to deal with this time bomb. Do all the 18 s have it standard or can you opt out?

I'm with you, and I don't think you're missing anything, except maybe expensive repairs. We custom ordered my wife's 2018 Panamera 4. Air suspension is an option, and one I avoided.
My daily driver is a Lexus LS460 without air. As reliable as that car is, guys on the LS forum are always talking about failures. They either have an expensive repair or they junk the system and go with coil overs.
I will say some guys love the ride it gives, but mine rides just fine for me without it.

See this article about Active Air Suspension from Excellence Magazine.
Huh the article states they wouldn’t get a car without it. I’ve owned both air and spring suspensions and the air is superior in rode smoothness and adjustability. Form it up for sporty driving softnen it up for comfort. They’re less bouncy in bad roads. Much more refined ride. And you can lower it for looks if you like
without air ride we still have 3 setting for firmness/softeness. All I m saying (and I ve owned both too) its IMO it s not worth the trouble which will come. Just wondering what other think. I would expect more like above.
I have had Panameras both with and without the air suspension. The steel spring suspension transmits significantly more vibration (noise) on concrete and roads with grainy surfaces (Florida roads and tar and chip surfaces near my location). All season tires produce less of a difference. For me it’s a worthwhile option.

Just got my 2010 Panamera out of the shop for air system fault. Was in for just under 2 months time, replaced both front air struts, 2 compressors and 1 valve block. Then had a leak they had a hard time finding. YEAH never again will I own a car with air ride. They can keep it or swap to coilovers.
