Turbo options advice
Turbo options advice
I was mostly set on purchasing 2014-16 GTS. This past weekend, I test drove a 2014 PTT. This was my 2nd test drive and dealer left me alone with the car. During the 1st drive with the dealer, I walked away with a very different impression about the car – smooth, fast and comfy. In short, it wasn’t exciting. During the 2nd drive, I put the car in sport mode and rolled down the windows. This was an entirely different experience. The car was so flat and fast. It cornered pretty well or so I felt. I was just blown away. I own a CTT, and PTT is on a completely different level. With this kind of power, its very hard to choose anything else.
My ideal “spec” is a Turbo spec’ed like a sporty GTS. What would you think are must have options?
2014 PTT, 12K Miles, 77K

- Keyless entry and drive – this was a consideration on GTS, and standard on Turbo
- Sport steering wheel – I prefer this much over the multi-function wheel mainly for the paddle shifters. Very hard to find in a Turbo
- Sport exhaust
- Sport package – Does this provide the Sport+ button, what does it do beyond the Sport button?
- PDCC – very rare to find anyways
- Alcantara interior – I will have to let this go
- Black high gloss wheels

Many of the options you list are a 'personal preference' items.
I recently (just this week) purchased a Panamera Turbo. I was going through exact same questions. What options are best for the car. What is high demand, what is my preference?
I looked for about 8 months total.
What I settled for is get what I wanted and what I viewed as something I would enjoy.
I found one with options I thought were a must for me (PDCC, 4zone, sport package, sport suspension, 20" tires), plus some that were not absolutely a must, but could be sacrificed in lieu of other features that I might find 'nice' or 'awesome' to have.
In addition to above, I also wanted seat cooling, silver trim, stuff like that.
What I found was a PTT that had everything I wanted minus seat cooling (sacrificed it since car came with Adaptive cruise control, custom interior trim in same ext colors, headrest/console porsche logos, light package and illuminated sills, with few other items).
So I knew what my perfect options are for me, what I would be wiling to trade out (to gain something else that I did not specifically name until I saw the car as a whole package).
Then, you will be able to go through cars and pick one that you can settle on, even if it does not have every single item you initially listed. Nothing wrong with changing your mind.
Once you get it, just enjoy it, dont look back thinking would have/could have. It is useless.
Hope this helps.
