Ordering paint to sample

Ok I am back on my Panamera buying. I stopped by San Diego Porsche and they have a carmine red Pan and it looked good although I don't like black wheels. It had me thinking why not just order the custom color I want? Has anyone ordered a paint to sample Panamera? I believe the carmine red was approx $3500.

I am looking to order a Irish Green one. Anybody have insight on time frame and does the $3500 cover most custom colors. Any SOCAL dealer better then the other for placing order?

Why didnt I ask the dealer? Well even my 14year old daughter noticed after he asked what i was driving and I answered a mini van he really didnt sound interested. The next question was if i am leasing? LOL!! I will be honest there must be something about me as I have to have a poor look about me. Best part is I am paying cash. I was shocked that at my $100k budget there were cars on the lot optioned well at close to that price.I never got the answer what the GT added to the price.

as usual any help would be greatly appreciated.

Paint to Sample on a Panamera costs $9000. It's a tough sell you could buy something else and get a great wrap done for half that cost particularly if you are thinking of an "off" color like green. That might make more sense

The sticker at SD Porsche says Carmine Red and it was $3500-3800??

Did you order one and it was $9k? I am of course going by Carmine Red being a custom ordered color? I know salesperson said so but maybe there are different charges for different colors.

I am not worried about resale it is what it is.

Carmine is one of four Special Colors listed on the configurator along with Amethyst, Chalk and GT Silver. The special colors are a $3310 upcharge over a standard (non-metallic) color. A custom color, or PTS, is listed as a $9910 upcharge on the configurator. From what I have read getting a PTS is generally a quite lengthy process and the is a limited number of available PTS allocations. If you can get a PTS allocation it can add several months to the delivery time.
