head light question?
Is it possible to remove some of the pitting from sand/stone damage?
From what i've read there is a layer of UV protectant that covers lens.
I was thinking of wet sanding and buffing out but if they are going to yellow faster i don't want to do that. Any suggestions?

I saw this on a rennlist form while researching what to do about my lights. It seems some people, but not all, have had issues with putting film on their lights. It sounds like their is some type of UV film from the factory. I'm hoping to minimize some of my pitting without damage to the film. Mabe plastic polish by hand? Or???

"I just spoke with someone I know at PCNA, he said, the new 911s, Caymans, Boxsters have a UV protection clear coat on the lenses. Because of this, the film can delaminate the clear coat. Mainly from heat. If it doesn't delaminate from the heat, probably, some of the clear coat would be removed when/if the film is removed, which means a new light unit. Suspect not a warranty item."
