Thoughts on extended warranties - companies, pricing, policies, etc.
With a likely '12-14 Panamera purchase coming within days, I'm curious what people have found for extended warranties on these cars. If you have thoughts on preferred companies, coverages, pricing, etc., I'll like to hear some feedback. I have had them in the past, but it not normally something I opt for. On a Panamera, I'm seriously considering it again. Would appreciate any insight.

For vehicles that are still under the manufacturer's warranty Porsche offers extended warranties that provide very similar coverage to the CPO. Terms are available up to 10 years / 100k miles from in service date. You don't have to buy the vehicle through a Porsche dealer. The warranty is purchased through the finance person at any Porsche dealer. I feel this is the best extended warranty available for Porsche. The vehicle is covered at any dealership and the claims are totally seamless, handled just like a normal factory warranty claim. I ended up buying a non-CPO car, still under manufacturer warranty, at an independent dealer and then added the Porsche 10 year platinum coverage. If you shop carefully you can find a comparable or nicer vehicle with more warranty for less total cost than purchasing a CPO car from a Porsche dealership.
Good luck with your search.

The best warranty I found was from my local Porsche dealer, Bob Moore, in Edmond OK. $3800 - 0 deductible (for repairs made at his dealership; $100 deductible elsewhere) and 7 years 48,000 miles.
