How did you get rid of Turbo Lag?

I never realized what turbo lag was until I owned this wonderful PT; it's the only deficiency of such a wonderful ride. I'm sure many agree. I understand that a tune will remove most of it, are there other ways that are better? I can live with it if I have to, but if there is a safe relatively inexpensive cure, I want it. Has anyone out there solved turbo lag; how?

After driving turbocharged Audi's for a long time and then transitioning to NA motors I had grown very accustomed to a responsive throttle. While I absolutely love my 2010 PTT the turbo lag was either worse than any of my Audi's or I had become more sensitive to it and found it both annoying and dangerous when the first turbo would kick in and provide a sudden burst of power often unexpectedly.

My research led me to Vivid Racing - the IPD plenum device and an ECU tune. I had difficulty programming my ECU w/ the portable device and ended up sending my ECU to Vivid where they were able to program it just fine. However I had installed the IPD plenum at the start of the project and drove it for several weeks by itself and I did notice smoother acceleration and 'I think' reduced turbo lag. After the ECU tune the turbo lag virtually disappeared and the pulls are incredibly strong and linear - although I enjoy the improved power output, my primary driver was to reduce turbo lag. If you can find someone local to you that has done this you might want to get a test drive and see for yourself. Best of luck!

I have a Turbo WRX and a Cobb tune smoothed it out. Cobb AP supports Porsche.
Other methods such as turbo changes etc would not be worth the time, expense and experimentation IMO. That s the drawback of a turbo car from a NA car.

I don’t think there is much turbo lag at all. In fact if i floor it in sport chrono it’s pretty much instantaneous power.

What I will say is the throttle could be more responsive in non sport and sport mode. I think the amount of play the throttle has is a bit too much but I imagine that was to keep people’s drawers clean when driving causally.

In manual mode, picking your own gears and keeping the rpms up, there is almost zero turbo lag as compared to older boosted platforms.
