Windshield wipers stopped working

Happy Birthday to me ...not...
I have a 2010 Panamera turbo that I have owned for a month now. I went out in it today and noticed that the key memory setting were for the other key , my wife’s. I figured the car may still be picking up my wife’s signal from her key while in the garage . Well after a few errands this never resolved. On my way home it started to rain, it’s then that I realized that the windshield wipers would not work ! The rear one did, the windshield and headlight water jets worked, just no front wipers.
Could these two things be related ? Only thing I can think is the wife went through a drive in car wash the last time it was driven . I will check the fuses tomorrow am. This happen to anyone else ?
Thanks

I’d say start by checking the fuse, the wiper motor, and relay.

Update....
So it turns out it’s the wiper motor is done. $700 to replace at an independent Porsche mechanic .
I will have to wait until tomorrow for the parts to come in . He did say they usually get there’s from the local Porsche dealer but they had just sold that one....we had our first rain in months here ..so someone beat me to it . He did say that this is a common issue , just an FYI

That should be an easy DIY. You probably though have it all resolved now. Quick look shows genuine Porsche motor for 450 shipped. Maybe 1 hour of work.

Not hard to DIY

I did this DIY about a year ago. Not a difficult job with a couple caveats.
  1. The wiper arm assemblies are secured with traditional nuts but can only be removed from the spindle by using a jaw puller. This process can be a little cumbersome.
  2. Mark the alingnment of where the wipers contant the widsheild before removal. Makes proper reinstallation much less trucky.
  3. The plastic cowel that surrounds the lower windsheild is a press fit and is removed using plastic wedges. The cowel gets brittle with age and is likely to be cracked or damged on re-install.
Other than that, removal is a few fasteners and an electrical connector. I paid $457 for the part from Parts.com.

Good luck!

Wish you had posted a few days ago, lol ! Great info for anyone needing to do this .
The deed is done for me, picked the car up this afternoon . I was charged $465 for the part , the rest diagnosis and repair total $700 which seems fair . I wasn’t sure if it was a bad motor or some other electrical issue, so for peace of mind I am happy with the repair .
