How many of us have had the front suspension issues?

just trying to see how prevalent it is. 5%, 50%, 100%?

Reminds me of the Cayenne issue, Porsche didn’t do anything until a class-action was launched.

let me know

thanks

I know I did, first time I took it in was fixed and the noises came back within 3K miles after the fix. The second time around, they changed the upper control arms and it has been quiet ever since. My car is a 2015 4S with 55K miles on it now. The noises started around 47K miles, I would imagine this is a wear and tear issue due to weak design of the control arm bushings. Porsche should grandfather the fix for anyone that owns the car.

2010 with 58k, hearing some noises on bumps, particularly when cold.

There are 2 known issues related to front suspension.
Based on french owners feedback
1) Creacking noise when cold
100% of Panamera (from MY2010 to MY2013) are affected before 60k Miles. Sway bar bushings replacement solves the issue.

2) Clunking noise not related with temp
Roughly 50% of Panamera (from MY2010 to MY2013) and 20% of Panamera (from MY2014 to MY2016) are affected before 60k Miles. Control arm bushings (upper or lower or both) replacement solves the issue. Porsche dealers used to change control arms but since last year there is an available kit in Europe to change only bushings.

Wow if the numbers are that high, I’m surprised no one started a class action yet.

pelican has the lower bushings, but just the full uppers

Upper and lower sway bar bushings, if you have active sway bar?

Replaced both upper control arms (full assembly) and all lower bushings along with one ball joint. That was at 65k miles on a 2012 PTTS. Local dealer had quoted $4400 to replace the uppers and lowers (control arms) plus labor. I opted for a local Porsche mechanic and just did the bushings ($200) and two upper control arms ($350 each) plus labor. Was about $1900.

Noise gone, problem solved? Air struts still original?

Solved the creak and the odd feel when turning in at limit. Has been good since. And, I suppose I should add the cost of an alignment I got at the Porsche dealer - $295) So, to fix, $2200. All original air shocks but did replace the compressor (that was $2800 parts and labor). That along with the brakes (new rotors, front and back, pads and fluids), PDK flush, new wheels and tires. And, I did replace a valve cover gasket, as well. So, over the past year, I have spent about $12k in maintenance items. Welcome to owning a Porsche, I suppose.

My tech just recommended to replace the whole lower arm, replacing 3 bushings on each arm is labor intensive, plus you will have new parts as a whole. I was worried it was my air strut, but car doesn't sag or compressor isn't over working. Just loud clunk coming out of a driveway on a decline to even pavement and going over moderate bumps (which are all over here in NJ)

My 14 was creaking like mad last November, a trip to Florida solved that but the clunks were fixed by new front shocks and upper arms under CPO

Noticeable difference with PDK flush?

Bushings are a wear item. that said - at least they are covered by the CPO warranty by Porsche. I had mine done during CPO at 28K miles, 5 year old car. Probably more due to age than miles.

Most BMW's and many other cars have similar issues. If the car is 5 years old or more this is pretty common even with BMW's. I am not sure a class action suit would get very far.
If control arms were breaking that would be one thing. Bushings wearing out in 4-6 years? That's pretty normal for a heavy performance car like this.
