REAR HATCH BUTTON SOLUTION (PanS 2010 Models)

I have discovered a new solution to not being able to close the Panamera's rear hatch other than pressing the button located on the rear hatch itself. The 1st solution is to run a long wire from rear hatch button going to the dash and installing another switch. Please see this thread if you are opting to go this route...

The 2nd solution is to get a WIRELESS MICRO REMOTE CONTROL SWITCH WITH MINI RECEIVER operating on 3Volts to 12Volts...

It is very important that you get the 3Volts to 12Volts so that you dont have to run a wire to tap to a12Volt power source and you can just use a 3V coin type battery - I used a CR2025 type. Order the battery receptacle as well...

Assemble this and place inside a small electronic component enclosure (maybe you can get from RadioShack). You can now splice the rear hatch buttons connector and connect it to this receiver.

The box stays inside the rear hatch. You can install a double sided velcro tape so that the enclosure is securely fastened inside the button silo.

Please see video I made demonstrating how the micro transmitter/receiver works...

You can now toggle the rear hatch button without running a long wire to the dash, breaking any clips and inadvertently destroying some of your interior panels :-)

Hope this helps.
