Not from Europe but I had mine done last Saturday and then emailed Porsche to see if they would reimburse me for the work I had done to the tune of $995 and they are.

Part number for recall components?

Any possibility we can buy the recall components for the AC and also the shifter bushings? Mine is a grey import and my local porsche dealers not gonna touch the car without paying more money unfortunately

If anyone can provide me the part numbers (if that's even possible) that would be awesome

Thx

What do you mean by Grey import? I spent $995 fixing the shifter in January but I still had the dealership replace it again and Porsche is reimbursing me for the $995. If the dealership refuses to do the work I’d email Porsche North America and let them know that the dealership is refusing to do the work.

Note the location for the previous post... Malaysia. Other countries may have "alternative" means of acquiring vehicles.

Basically over here - if you own a grey import porsche here you will need to enroll for the adoption package first before they will even consider touching the car. I think the cost previously was about USD 4K and that is if your car isn't modified in anyway. As such - I am looking at alternative means to get the parts.

Not sure if there's anyway to push this down their throats since it's a safety issue

Sorry... No useful part numbers listed on the service invoice for repairs of the recalls... "REPLACE PLASTIC BUSHING ON THE SELECTOR" (BALL SOCKET) and "CHECK CONTROL UNIT FOR AIR CONDITIONING BLOWER AND REPLACE IF NECESSARY" (FAN CONTROL).

Oh I see. I get it. In that case it may actually be cheaper to get the works done yourself by a certified Porsche mechanic not affiliated with the dealership. All the best with that. Hopefully you haven’t experienced the issue yet. I did. The car would still move slightly even in park.

Had mine done at Porsche Livermore in the Northern CA Bay Area last week. Took a couple hours. I waiting locally - grabbed lunch, used the lounge and wifi. They had a really nice white 08 GT3 for sale $105K. I should have asked for a 1 hour test drive of that - you know, just in case I wanted to buy it for myself for Christmas or something. Didn't think to ask. haha.

They had the parts btw - they had over 100 of the relays come in just recently. So I think they are just starting the permanent fix within the last 1-2 weeks at this dealer anyway - for the AC blower recall. They did the shifter one too. Took about as long to get through detail as it did to complete both recalls btw.

Nice dealership btw - I was very impressed with the place vs. Stevens Creek. I would go there again. For one thing they got me in with a few days notice - Stevens Creek had nothing available for more than 3 weeks. Who knows what I might be doing 3 weeks from now - I hate booking a car appt that far in advance.

Same. Mine didn’t take long at all and today Porsche sent me a reimbursement check via FedEx for $995 so they are good with me. 😄

Just had the shifter bezel recall done but now my blower motor is out.... controls all work fine but fan will not turn on... my VIN is apparently not affected but dealer says I need new blower motor and regulator (Im guessing regulator = control module?) I find it very odd this happened right after i brought in for oil change and recall - any advice how to resolve or if i should just pay to get this done?

seems fishy - was it working when you picked the car up?

That does seem very fishy. I’d reach out to Porsche North America and explain it to them. They were very helpful when I contacted them. Wish you the best on this. Please keep us posted.

I went in for oil change, shifter bezel recall + estimate on lower control arms. It was working when I dropped the car off. I called the # listed on recall notice and after working my way through automated answering I was able to explain situation. I was told what I was expecting to hear - car was not affected per VIN and there was nothing they could do. Regardless of how suspect this sort of situation seems, I was thinking the following - I know based on my cars service history that previous owner a long long time ago had HVAC work done, but do not know exact details. I am thinking that perhaps a part number (for either blower motor or resistor or both) that originally came with car may have been swapped to another and as such - it could be that I now have a defective part and recall campaign is unable to identify this or that one part was replaced for a non-defective one and although the problem happened anyhow the recall campaign identifies my vehicle as unaffected. Either way, a test drive to determine some stuff related to control arms was done - vehicle was driven 11 miles and came back into service room and sat for a while... I am thinking to de-fog interior. I didn't notice until i was a few miles down the road and i tried to turn on windshield defroster which i can tell is working but fan is not turning on...

Another vehicle I have (Viper) is notorious for letting water get into the blower motor and after nearly a decade of ownership mine finally crapped out early this summer. I was able to order resistor + blower motor and replace myself in 30 min, and i am hoping this will be an easy task for the porsche as well. I overnighted blower motor + control module (part 9706244230, which I am hoping is the "regulator" per the estimate) and will attempt this myself... I hope I dont find out that this doesnt solve the issue or I can't do this myself as its getting quite cold in Boston and hard to drive with a foggy windshield!
