Location of stock amplifier

Hi, getting an intermittent and annoying static noise coming out of the right dash tweeter. For some reason it happens only when on highways (45 mph + ) and turning down sound volume completely doesn't help nor turning off PCM by keeping left button pressed.

Reading the forums seems like this was previously identified on Cayenne as a bad connection at the amp speakers connector.

Anyone knows where is the amplifier located ? This is the base sound system (not Bose or Burmester)
Also any tips on how to reach that is appreciated.

Have you checked the rear trunk area where the battery is located? I believe this is where most amp's are located in the Panny. Maybe a wire got knocked loose when replacing the battery or doing other work. Good luck eliminating this annoyance!

There are 2 potential locations depending on sound system jn the car. First, per skiracer it's in the trunk on the right underneath the removable panel. Second, it would be behind the carpet against the firewall/kick panel in the front passenger footwell.

Thumbs up

It's definitely not in the trunk as the right side compartment underneath the removable panel is empty.
I've seen that spot used by the better sound systems like the Bose. Again, my car has the base audio system. So I will pull on that piece of carpet as you suggested and hope to find it there.

Thanks!

Trunk is only for the subwoofer. It should be under passenger side front carpet in the footwell.

Carpet

Hi folks

might seem like a daft question but where would I start in order to remove the carpet in the passenger footwell? Do I need to remove any trim? If so how? Thanks
