Sport Chrono & Premium Plus
Sport Chrono & Premium Plus
Hello, I'm in the market for a pre-owned Sport Truismo 4. With the base motor model most are void of options such as Premium Package Plus and Sport Chrono. However, I recently came across two, each having one but not both mentioned options. I've owned many 911's and would never consider purchasing one without Sport Chrono for what it has to offer and resale. With regard to the Sport Turismo 4 I'm curious if current owners feel Sport Chrono is a must and would choose this over the Premium Plus optioned car. And yes, I understand these options offer completely different characters and have nothing to do with one another. Having never owned a Panamera I'm just looking for feedback. Best!
I've never owned a Porsche before and only test drove a Panamera right before purchasing my 2013 GTS. I know it's not a Sport Turismo but aside from exterior styling the question regarding Sport Plus is still relevant. If you want the experience Sport Plus offers, there's no doubt you should get it. Sure you can pay a decent chunk of money to add it to a car that doesn't have it, but if we're being honest that's unlikely.
The Panamera I test drove did not have Sport Plus, so I put it in Sport and it was a noticeable change but we all know it's nothing crazy. Then I got to test the GTS I ended up buying, and when I put it in SP....it was a night and day difference between it and Sport. I cannot imagine buying a Panamera without SP and Sport Chrono. It has left every one of my friends speechless with a huge grin from ear to ear, and makes a 4100lb "boat" behave like no other sedan this size, even has a right to behave.
If that's what you want, then that's what you should get, no second guessing.
Lastly and this is just my opinion, resale value should not even be in the equation when considering what trim level and options you decide are in the car. You're the one who's going to be living with it every day until you sell it and if you decided to opt for something or chose to exclude something based solely on resale, that's really only impacting your enjoyment while it's in your possession.

Maybe look for another car that has both. Both are great and I believe that when I'm spending that amount of coin, don't settle - life is short. Sport Chrono is a MUST especially on GTS/Turbo variants. I own a Panamera Turbo with PDCC, Sport Chrono & PP. It took some time but I located and purchased the right car with the right options and never looked back. The drive is phenomenal.
If I was to every lease one say for daily duty, the maid, wife, etc... it wouldn't be so critical to have certain equipment and then any base trim with a couple options would be suffice.
