Hi all,

I have a 10 Panamera turbo. The spoiler stopped working, and I ended up able to jam the spoiler extended (which is preferred if it’s going to be broken). I have no desire to replace and or fix, but is there any possible way to bypass the “Spoiler Failure” screen that comes up and doesn’t go away? Open to all ideas as well, the fuse is linked to the tailgate and I doubt that will make the warning message go away.

The only thing I can think of is to unplug the power and install a paperclip into the electrical pigtail. This should close the circuit to eliminate the warning message on the cluster.

Yes. There may be a plug that provides the power to the spoiler unit.

Gave it a shot tonight, it was two rows of four inserts. I took paper clips and bridged each set (4 clips bridged the two inserts across from each other) together. Did not work. However it just occurred to me that maybe they all need to be connected to work. I’ll give it a try again, hopefully it’ll work and I can post a DYI :lol:

 

Turbo spoilers are currently on backorder. Were you able to figure out how to eliminate the error message?

 

Turbo spoilers are equipped with 2 "easy to swap" electric motors. Usually, spoiler error refers to one or the other of these 2 motors. Motor ref is BOSCH 0390204035, easy to find for 50/60 Euros/dollars. Quick fix is better than getting rid of the error as the spoiler has actually a real aerodynamic effect at high speeds.

 

Well, electric motors are far better than the hydraulic system in my 996 turbo. In those cars if you leave the spoiler up at wrecks the seals which is expensive to fix. I guess it doesn’t make a difference if you leave your spoiler up on your Panamera versus down, as it doesn’t add any load to the electric motors. Great information in this thread.

 

Both of my motors are working fine. My issue is that plastic piece #4 from diagram got displaced when the spoiler attempted to deploy under frozen conditions. Spoiler is currently stuck up so not concerned with the aerodynamics. I just want to be able to eliminate the light until the spoilers for the 970 turbos/GTS are once again available. They are currently on backorder.

 

Was there any final fix on this?

I have a 2010 Turbo and I pressed the button after a while and the spoiler went into the B position and is now stuck there, with the flaps locked.

B position having the two extended flaps next to each other, but looking like a non-turbo spoiler.

I feel confident the motors should be working and able to get it back in the fully moved out position, but I'll survive if it's stuck here. Looking for any remedies besides a new spoiler!

 

.... mine turbo spiler stuck fully extended and no errors. when I want to retract it and press the button it moves like few mm and that is it, and no error. so does it mean that electrical parts are ok and there is mechanical 'blockage' ?
