Differential Help!!!

Does anyone know off hand if a 4s front differential will replace a turbo differential? Mine is making noise and loose, and my mechanic described it as “creaming.”

Used the front diff from the 4s is much cheaper then the turbo. Lately, between maintenance and parts needing to be replaced, my car has been very costly so trying to save some money if possible.

When I was looking at diffs, I remember turbo diff was different from the 4S. I cannot guarantee but remember differences there.
Look up the parts catalog free at porsche site and you will see the parts for comparison.
I have a thread out here to locate and download parts catalogs for various panamera years. search here under 'parts catalog', etc.

thank you, managed to find a turbo diff for not much more then the 4s. Ironically the shaft play started to be heard after I flushed the front drive fluid.

PS thank you for the DYI threads

Also, did you replace? If so how many miles on yours when you replaced?

Got around to replacing the diff. Located a used one with 40k miles for $800 delivered. Massive job, my mechanic said it was incredibly difficult to remove the diff. The drain plug from the old diff

Yes, that is why I removed the fill plug, sucked out all the fluid, measuring how much came out, then filled in using same hole. Easy job this way. What was sucked out matched capacity in FSM so confident all fluid replaced.
Good job replacing diff.
