Quote: In my 2010 PTT I plug my CTEK into the port in the rear hatch area, it is always on.
According to Porsche, tender should be connected to jumper terminals under the hood, is yours connected directly to battery in trunk? If so, how long have you been using this method?

I do not connect directly to the battery. CTEK (and other brands) make a 12V connector so you don't have to use alligator clips on the battery. I plug into the auxiliary port in the rear hatch and it back feeds into the battery. My Ferrari tender and Bentley tenders also use the same method. I have plugged in my cars this way for years without issue. If I was going to charge the battery (rather than just maintain it) then I would connect a battery charger (not maintainer) directly to the battery or use the charging ports under the hood on the drivers side of the engine bay.

My 2010 Pan S Battery just died on me while I was out of the country for more than a week. Need to charge it using my CTEK. I dont have the cigarette lighter plug/adaptor. Can I just connect the CTEK directly to the jumper terminals under the hood or plug directly to the battery terminals in the back trunk? Which would be better and/or safer?

my CTEK MXS5.0

My battery.... by the way, I'm assuming that this is an AGM type of battery right?

I would advise you to connect the Cteck, either to the front cigarette lighter socket or to the terminals of the engine cover at the front left.
Yes the batterie are AGM
