pulled the front off to replace the air filter, no need to do that for the thermostat housing change.

Doug,

Were you able to remove the strut without loosening the drive shaft from the transmission? Instructions say to loosen them up but I never see anyone mention it. There's a special tool for it kind of debating ordering it. I'm trying to replace the upper control arm car is starting to drive a little funny and there's the noise when hitting decent size bumps. (Thanks in advance)!

Thank you. I still have 12k miles to go so I'll cross that road when/if it comes.

I ran to the store since it's local (and they don't guarantee the condition of the storage box if shipped) for an E-torx 20 seems like a very good deal for your future brake work:

no need to loosen drive shaft at the transmission side.
