2015 panamera 4S 60kmiles coolant issue

Hi guys,
twice while driving the coolant gage went from middle to red with warning message for low collant than came back to normal Instantly. This happened twice until I got to Mecanic garage.
my Mecanic did a pressure test, no issues there.
he added missing collant and told me to come back tmr.
today I was missing 1 liter more or less of coolant and there was the smell. No light came on but driver side smells like collant very obviously. There was no visible leaks.
My Mecanic asked me if I have seen white smoke, I will try to pay attention for that one tmr.
His thinking it’s the driver side turbo😧
but needs to investigate.
i have read on the threads here lots of discussion around the coolant cap, could this be the problem.
any help will be greatly appreciated.
cheers
jack

This is a picture of a sign coolant is seeping past the cap. There is coolant in the overflow area because it passed either the relief valve, the o-ring seal, or both. I replaced the o-ring with progressively larger ones until I felt confident to rule out the o-ring. Look for this. Wipe it dry and then drive around. If it is wet again then it is one source of coolant loss.

One size up viteon o-ring did not seem to do the trick for me. It would form a puddle right where I'm taking the next picture:

Right about where the larger spot is just under the side skirt.

I bought a new replacement cap. (They are available at most auto parts stores as it's shared with Audi and VW I believe. When I still saw leaking I bought one from the dealer. Still saw leaking after that I bought larger o-rings from Grainger). Depending if it still feels loose when you install the new cap you can try larger o-rings (www.grainger.com for local pickup):

Viteon part # 41KY31 is a tiny bit larger
Silicone part # 41UV37 is huge it was hard to tighten down all the way.

I guess the alternative is to replace the reservoir. (I'm using the silicone o-rings but still get moisture. I think the stop leak I put in is causing high pressure).

Erm... you may want to consider getting your entire cooling system flushed out. Stop leak is cancer for an engine. Its one of the worst things you can do to the cooling system.

Stop leak is definitely a polarizing subject on all the forums I'm on. On a Prius it might just save yourself a HG job or one way trip to the junk yard. For a Panamera it doesn't deserve it I know but cost of caring for this car has been staggering.

I'll look into how I can possibly rig my current coolant tools up to get it done. If I can get it done without much added cost I won't need to run it by the boss (aka wife)...

Also have 2015 Panomera 4S Coolant Leak- 63,000 miles

For 4-years not a single problem- loved this vehicle- but drama began with a fuel pump- which was on B/O for 6 months said porsche - finally it arrived- mechanic installed- then the fuel transfer pump went- that was a month is the shop- nightmare to finally get running- came back and first time I drove it- I got a warning engine hot- saw the heat guage shoot up to red- then right back down- knew it could not be real must be guage- but added coolant to be safe- back to mechanic he found a tiny hose leak- back to me- day two of driving again temp shot up- warning to stop driving immediately- took a gal of new coolant - no puddle, no visable sign of leak- but now- every 50-70 miles or less i get the overheat warning, temp soars, coolant tank empty again- I’m adding a gallon of new coolant now every two days- this past week- yet never see a drop under the car when parked- Is this the time to trade her in? One thing after another began, of course, one month after my extended warranty is over! Porsche has a 6-week wait list for repairs- loosing faith in my own mechanic- is whatever is wrong destroying something else? Where is all this coolant going? Any possible help appreciated!

only really one place the coolant could be going if you don't see a puddle - you're burning it :O
probably a head gasket
