And I'm Back...My GTS Journal 2.0

Welp, that didn't take long!

As I mentioned in previous threads, I intended on getting back into a Porsche but I didn't think it would happen so quick. The day my '13 GTS was loaded up and shipped to its new owner in ATL is the day I made the deal on this '19 GTS from a dealership in TX. The car is literally spec'd exactly how I would've done it with the exception of not having PCCB optioned in.

The worthwhile noting options include:
  • Leather/Alcantara Interior in Black/Carmine Red
  • Alcantara Steering Wheel
  • SportDesign Package
  • 21" SportDesign Wheels
  • Heads up Display
  • Sport Chrono Dial in Carmine Red
  • Premium Package Plus
  • Assistance Package (Night Vision Assist)

So fast forward 3 days later and the car finally arrived one day earlier than expected. This is actually the first time I've seen the newer GTS's in person and I must say, it did not disappoint!

The car came pretty dirty (I'm okay with that) but here are a couple quick photos the following morning.

After driving the car for a little while to make sure nothing stuck out that needed addressed, it was time to tackle some in depth detailing.

After a deep cleaning and applying one coat of Gtechniq CSL they are brought back to life...

I'm not sure if these brakes were ever cleaned in their 15,000 mile life span, but I again did a deep cleaning and applied one coat of CSL to the calipers and to the rotor hub. I initially thought I'd have to clean the rotor hubs with a wire brush but Meguiars Wheel Brighter did the trick.

The inside wasn't too bad. I did a general cleaning and treated the leather with my SwissVax leather kit but I didn't take before/after photos of that process. I did however document the process of cleaning the Alcantara steering wheel. It was obvious that the previous owner was a "12:00" wheel driver as that was the only area that appeared worn. No problem for Sonax's Alcantara cleaner, though.

Final results. You can tell how its much darker and "lifted" now. This is something I'd recommend doing every 6 weeks or so to preserve the longevity of the fibers if you have an Alcantara wheel.

The inside is a beautiful place to be. Of course it carries the craftsmanship we've all grown to love from Porsche, but the tech has finally caught up with the 971 IMO.

A couple pics after the first superficial wash. I of course will be doing a full paint correction and applying CSL / Exo V4 for my coating.

As a stock car, I think it's great. Both visually and performance wise. But of course, I can't keep it stock too long...

Already ordered;
  • RSS 7mm spacers for the rear
  • Lowering Links
  • Michelin 4S tires (Not really a mod, I know)
  • Eurocharged stage 1 ECU Tune. Stock this car is rated at 453hp 457tq. Well, this stage 1 file is suppose to net me 620hp and 657tq. Insane from a stage 1. I will also be going stage 2 later this season (possibly a custom dyno tune from Eurocharged) along with running RedStars full catless system. I've already talked to them and seen dyno results / video clips of their stage 2 set up and it sounds amazing.

I will also be logging my gains by way of Dragy. 0-60, 60-100 and 60-130's is what I'll mostly be comparing. I'm pretty big on this little module and use it a lot to log my times on other vehicles of mine.

I didn't waste any time going out to test this beast. Porsche claims 0-60 at 3.9 for the 2019 MY GTS. Well, these were my results with horrible DA and nearly done Pirelli PZero tires.

I was really pleased. With Michelin 4S's and DA of 1,xxx I'm confident this 3.70 could be 3.60 if not better.

All mentioned mods above will be installed within 2-4 weeks so I'll be reporting back with updates. Glad to be back on the boards with a fun little project.

Great job detailing your wheels and brakes - I really need to do mine this year. They both look amazing!

Gorgeous! White is classic. A shame the dealer wouldn't clean the wheels better considering they're trying to sell it. Surprised the tach wasn't ordered in red to match chrono - regardless a sweet looking ride.
I recently ordered a Taycan in white|red and opted for red chrono face. Congrats and enjoy!

I was okay with them not cleaning the wheels - I just made them confirm in writing that they weren't scraped or had deep scratches anywhere. Red tach would've been a nice touch, but with the side clusters being digital, I can make it a bit more sporty with having the g-force reading displayed or something like that. Congrats on the Taycan - like it? I was considering the Taycan Turbo, but I'm just not ready to go full electric yet lol.

Thanks buddy! The interior is definitely a great combo. Pretty similar to my '13 Cayenne GTS yet it still looks good in todays models.

Decided to try a couple more 0-60 runs despite having horrible weather (+4000DA) but to my surprise, I smashed my previous best. Again, the car is stock with worn PZero tires.

Taycan is another level, I LOVE it. It's a Porsche first - electric car second.

I always used to lust over your Gray GTS. It was perfect and if it had black interior I probably would have bought it. Now I can lust over your new GTS haha. Don't know if I would have been comfortable with the driver climbing in the window?
