panamera - what to avoid?

hi ,
first time here - hello to anyone - it is nice to meet you and it is great there is such forum for porsche.

my wife told me we need 4/5 door car - highest moment - so far i was with 2/3 doors and always was great.

panamera looks cool and thats why i am here.
i found one from 2012

can you tell me what should i be careful in case of some offers - known engine or transmission etc issues? any years or model vetsions to avoid? the question is about reliability but of course the future selling posibility. i dobnt want to stay with model version nobody will want.

thank you in advance for help. pls comment...

ps. anyone can help with vin decoding? found one interesting car and wanted to check the spec.

Welcome! For VIN decoding, check out:

https://vinanalytics.com

Make sure the car has a documented service history. These cars can be very costly to fix, especially if you don’t wrench. Some things to read about/check:

1. Coolant pipe failure
2. Air suspension if equipped
3. Front end components (upper and lower control arms and sway bars)
4. Cam and timing chain cover leaks

There are other things as well so spend some time searching on this forum and on Rennlist.

A pre-purchase inspection by a trusted dealer or or independent shop familiar with these cars and the brand is a must.

Good luck!
