Crystal Cove August 5th?
Crystal Cove August 5th?
Just wondering if anything special will be there or anyone plan on going?
Im meeting up with some friends at La Costa park and ride at 5:30am and I pm'd a friend about if he can make it in his Gallardo. If not it will be a few BMW's caravan-ing from La Costa to Crystal Cove. If anyone wants to meet up that morning probably around 5:30-6:00am at La Costa park and ride.
Anyone plan on going? If none of you 6speed guys deside to go, i'll supply many pictures when I get back.

here's three cars in attendence...
silver enzo... (I know there is at least 10 pictures available - as there was at one point 75 people around the car - you honestly couldn;t see it at one point)
silver Porsche GT
red Saleen S7
3 cars - total retail price - 2 million dollars...
it was a great Sat. this past weekend...
rained here locally up to Oceanside and was dry after that the rest of the way...

I can only speak for what I saw...
and I have been there all of 7 times over the course of 8 months...
and I have only seen one, and it was a picture of one...
and it was red...
not to mention he parked in the red zone after making one pass and not finding a spot...
it's a relative at that point...
what's a $300 parking ticket to get a scone at Starbucks and have everyone drool all over themselves while looking at your car...
you could see the guy was just loving it...
but this is the type of cars you can see...
we are doing a go-cart thing at K1 Speed around 11am...
hmmm...
could always run up and back in time for the event...
let's see who else from SD wants to join?
Sincerely,

After the article on CC in the OC Register, the amount of "true" supercars showing up at CC has shrunk. Enzo's used to be common place (I remember one Saturday that there were 3 in the lot), F50's, F40's, and the rare McLaren F1 sighting. When OC Register made it public, a few of the more private collectors found it less "pleasurable" to share their cars with people that weren't true enthusiasts (the audience went from true enthusiasts, who were very careful when looking at the cars, to kids stealing valvecaps, rubbing their cameras against door panels and people with hands all over the cars). In fact, a lot of times now, you'll find better cars "outside" the center lot (where the cars stage) sincerely because owners don't want people all over their car. Nonethless, I've been going to CC for over 3 years now and it's by far the best show available if you're willing to wake up at 7AM on a Saturday morning.
Yeah I'm not happy about all the outside publicity the meet got recently, there was an article in Sport Compact Car about all the yuppies who go and muck it up for all the real enthusiasts. However I don't know where the meet would be relocated away from all the teeming masses, as that will be the eventual outcome.
IT DOES SUCK now it like a mad house of non car enthusiaists pretending to be enthusiasts .. that dont care for the cars... they let their dogs roam aorund or put their bikes right beside each car.. one miss step... willruin the prestine nature of some of the cars there...
the o.c. register jacked it up for us... sad but damn true

Matt Nunez attempted to switch it back then in February...
I dunno, I mean eventually it's gonna come down to 2 options for those who like to attend Crystal Cove meets, either 1. wait it out for all the yuppies to lose interest and move on to the next hippest thing. 2. move the location without telling the yuppies.

hey, I am a newbie through and through...
but man do I enjoy every time I show up from SD to check out the awesome collection of cars from the southern california area congregate at one spot. The best part is, that each weekend, it is different...
And as someone stated earlier - sometimes what is "outside" the cones is better than inside...
either way, the event is great - it is informal as much as it can be...
the people for the most part are car enthusiasts...
and success sometimes can be its own downfall for some things...
this I believe will never happen...
too many good people at this informal event every weekend...
and I can honestly say - I have met some truly wonderful people...
and many who absolutely love their cars and those that are around them...
just plain ol' "good people"...
and this in southern california - home of the most pretentious people in the world right?
