That's one seriously fugly looking color combination.......... ouch.
You've gotta look at it in context. The scheme is a results of a collab between Sharkwerks and Magnus Walker....and the paint scheme is a nod of the head to one of Walker's other creations. Personally, I think it's cool to see things that are outside the box a little bit.
I totally get the historical tie back. Whereas to me, the original car's "bumper" was truly a bumper and not part of the fender, etc. it allowed the orange line to be horizontal. Where with the e new car, I personally would have painted the knee line straight across the bumper so that the top part would not be orange. As painting the whole bumper cover which leads to the profile view of the orange line going up. Hope that makes some sense!
And to be honest, I have been a huge fan of Magnus and Singer for a long long time and given the money I would have commissioned a new interpretation of the original.
As an aside, his talk at the TED initiative was just brilliant.

There you go Tom that's the ticket! We really just wanted to do a tribute style car but on a car that most people wouldn't think of doing it on Even the wheels... Those champion rs184 are simple, elegant and just so right vs the more busy modern stuff. I'm really surprised that we don't see more of them... And in that gold

TED talk was really cool and it's funny you bring up the bumper stuff.. It's actually something we talked about but then it made the car look really odd in the front especially with a third white color. Hard to explain but it didn't look right... He can explain it best but I also like the stubby SCHR stubby front look

Not at all man I think pictures are a bit too static in a way. Maybe the videos will also show it but in person it really makes us smile. More to come on this..
