Tire time

Here's my current setup.

Front 245/35R19
Rear 295/30R19

I'm definitely changing my front tires, to more appropriately engage the awd system. The front is changing to a 235/40R19.

My challenge is choosing the rear tire. I would either keep the current 295/30R19 or move to a 305/30R19. The 295/30R19 with the 235/40R19 gives me almost the same front to rear ratio as the stock setup, but I'm not sure I want the stock amount of torque going to the front tires.

The 305 option is still shorter than the front tire (to engage the front wheels), but won't transfer as much torque due to the difference from front to rear being less. The 305 will visually look better, but it's heavier.

I've included a chart below and everything except the stock size assumes Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Let's hear your thoughts.

Later, Steve

235/40/19 wont fit inside.. thats a 26.4" tire, I have tried 265/35/19 that a little shorter 26/3" tire and doesnt work !! No liners and a lot of camber too, ok lowered too

the 255/35/19 will be a tight fit, those are 26", that the maximum I would go

255/35/19 and 290/30/19 would be ok imo

I dont quite agree with that. I know a couple people that have successfully used a 26"+ tire in the past. Especially the Potenza S04s which I will be going to.

305/30/19 rear
235/40/19 front

Keep in mind that it's only 0.3" larger radius than my current tire. It's also more narrow, which should help with clearance.

I'm running PSS10's at a reasonable ride height.

If you can fit the 235/40/19 then go with the 305/30/19...

235/40/19 is going to be a hard one to fit but as long as your wheel had a higher offset and is inside the fender some you might be ok.

Definitely do the front radiator mod though. I have modded mine to the point if cutting apart and re welding the brackets to get my setup to work and it's still a struggle. I have 255/35/19 on 9+40 wheels. I'm rwd though. Looking back now I wish I would have gone 275/30/19.

I always thought the 245/35/19 305/30/19 was the best option to keep close to stock ratios....

245/35/19 305/30/19 is what I run now, on the street is ok. Aggressive driving needs psm completely off as will kick in from time to time, not the safest combo to use (also 4WD wont work at all with this combo as rear tire is way bigger than front) , if will fit, 255s would be better, 265s/35 or 235/40 (same diameter) would be perfect for those lucky to make them work there, depends also on the front rim size. If 8.5J would go for 235s

255/35/19 and 295/30/19 should still be valid imo

I can tell ya if you're lowered at all a 265/35/19 will not fit. Only way it might is if you run no liners and mod the hell out of the radiator bracket.

Agree on that, I have no liners, radiators are way in front of the car, running -3.5 camber front and still rubs on my lowered car when full turning. KW v3 sitting a bit under gt2 height
