Carlos sent me his AP Log last night with one dig run. The Vbox didn't work I don't think so we went over how to use it this morning. I listened to his car start up, he backed it out and I could hear the sensor beeping just like mine. He got the Performnace Box into accel mode so I know it should record. He wasn't able to see a file on the SD card in the adapter when he plugged it into his computer but his SD card is 90MB/s so it might be USB2 and maybe I have a USB1 adapter and I sent him pictures of what to buy. We will get it worked out. He is going to Denton tonight and if any of you GTR lurkers want to get dogged, go out and run him. I am posting my best run with the same map on 93 from Wednesday and his run from last night. Both were on the street but he had some race gas mixed in his tank, I think he was at 100 octane based on what he told me.

I don't know what happened to those slips but he says his wife has agreed to take the pictures for him tonight. Denton is only 1/8 mile but we should see how his car does.

He has an outlier car and that is why his results are so good. Now of course someone could argue oh, he is messing with the excel file but I don't think so. I looked at individual samples and timing and it pretty much lines up with how mine look. The AP doesn't sample uniformly. It's supposed to be 41hz I think but it varies, probably due to interrupt latency or some other factor they have no way of controlling since they are hacking the ECU code anyway or commanding a sample through the OBD2 which just doesn't respond quick enough. I don't know enough about it so I really can't speculate very well.

In both cases he has sent me, his speed crosses his IAT, mine never does. My car is a dog, his is a gazelle. Simple as that. Apologies should be forthcoming but if this isn't enough, we will get more.

 

I offered to race him and record the whole thing as an unbiased person. I've got my car in the garage ready to go. I can be there anytime this evening. Let me know?

I live local to the track so no problem for me. My car runs 6.70's there on a decent hook. He should be waaaaay faster then me... so, we'll see?

Your reaction time is nice. I was just giving you my slip as a point of comparison. I was on race gas that day so my car was faster than the AP log above. Maybe it's not the best comparison since Carlos is on race gas. If he gets as good a reaction time as you, he wins, hands down. JMO. Hope you guys race and keep it friendly.

 

Thank you. I only offered to help. I have no dog in this hunt so to speak. I know Carlos through a mutual friend. I don't wish ill will on anyone, I just love to race. If he wants to clear his name I'm offering to help. Use my car as a bench mark of what he should walk away from.

 

Btw... my car is a 997.2 car... not s 991. It's had only a Europipe and a Cobb custom tune. That's it.
