if you go to the Amazon listing using their app on a smartphone, there are a number of photos of the kit and some individual components of the kit. One of those photos is of the camshaft timing tool needed to do this job.

Yes. It fits over a quadrahedron shape cast into the cams and effectively locks them in place. It will only fit one way.

The other special tool needed is the crankshaft locking pin, which does not go in at TDC.

It is mentioned above somewhere - but worth repeating. So far I haven't seen any interest in pursuing a class-action suit on behalf of the 2010-2012 Cayenne/Panamera V8 owners. Perhaps they don't see enough $$ in it.

Is it possible the part # was facing down? The number is on a rotating part. If you look at the bolts it's very easy to tell if yours are the good or bad ones.

I also doubt that any warranty will cover it unless it actually fails.

I have the same issue. Could not find the Part Number. Here are some pics. There is some sort of Part Number (in the rusted yellow at the bottom of the second pic) but it does not appear to be a Porsche Number. Anyone have any ideas on this? my car has the "bad" bolts with the center stud.

Keep rotating the engine - there IS a stamped PN on it - probably facing down at the moment.

BTW - if your bolts have the center stud - you're unfortunately in the group with aluminum bolts. No need to see the PN.. you already know the bad news.

Take the dental mirror open oil cap and look at the bolts if they have a center pin.
