Integrate or replace
I have a 997.2 Turbo S with PCM 3.0 with bluetooth and iPod adaptor. I want to add a backup and a front camera and SiriusXM. From what I have read I can either purchase NavTV modules OR I can replace the PCM with an aftermarket head unit that has an easier time adding cameras or even a 360 camera setup like Rydeen.
If I go with a different head unit I believe I will only lose the radio station and phone that displays on the dash. Do I lose anything else?

You'll also lose the customization that cars with sport chrono have available through the PCM. Things like entry light delay, automatic door locking, etc. And viewing of sport chrono stats on the PCM, not that anyone uses sport chrono for actual lap timing.
I don't think I've seen an aftermarket unit that looks as clean and correct as the PCM 3, which is really a pretty nicely designed piece of gear IMO. Even the high-end aftermarket units almost always look sorta tacky and out of place to me. Plus the stuff Nate said.
Nice black alcantara accents! And the steering wheel stripe ties it together nicely.
Re the aftermarket stereo, with one of those bezels I agree that it looks great - basically factory. If I had a PCM 2.1 I'd do it in a heartbeat. With a 3.0 though I don't feel it's worth it, given the cost, the loss of sport chrono features (fairly trivial ones, but still), and the fact that as likely as not it'll be a negative rather than a positive at resale. Of course you can always switch back, but the aftermarket stereo won't be worth much at that point, unlike many mods that have great resale value.
Instead I just got a proclip mount so my phone sits just to the right of the climate controls, which is something I probably would do regardless, and handles anything the PCM isn't great at.

Yes you are correct if my turbo had pcm3.0 I would never
changed it but pcm 2.1 is garbage sucks *****
I started with a 3.0 conversion and I got stuck
so I ripped it out and went with the pioneer

as someone who yanked out my 2.1 and put in an nex 8200 unit, using that same dash kit - I Wouldn't do it any other way. The integration of android auto, native sirius controls, and far superior bluetooth with upgradeable firmware was far more valuable than the sport chrono in my eyes. a 997.2 is up to 10 years old now, that's light years in terms of technology especially the LAST 10 years.
I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. I kept the OEM deck, and used the navTV HUR box and had delrey customs prebuild a harness for me, the swap took all of an hour including the XM Antenna and microphone, and two USB extensions.
I would also add that the quality of the audio coming from my speakers is noticeably better particularly since you have full granular control of your EQ.
