Anyone changed tranny oil in a tip

My tranny gasket is seeping a little. No drips but it's there!! Was wondering if anyone out there has changed it. I bought the oil, gasket, filter, plug, and washers. The repair manual talks about filling from the charge but I don't understand why you can't fill it from the control, (that's what they call the hole that the oil spills out of when full) with a temperature probe. Do the shift through the gears, top off and be done. If the oil comes out of the control when filling from the charge why couldn't you just fill from the control. Any words of wisdom from the wise would be appreciated.

Yes you can fill from the control. I just did it a week ago. I could not find my charge port adapter so just filled through the control. It has to be running.

Cool thanks. Yes I will follow the repair manual instructions. Do you use a temperature probe to monitor the temp after you start it ?

Measure what you take out and put that back in and start from there. While your down there might as well change the differential as well

well i'm in it now. while I was in there I noticed that the red bushing that's part of the motor mount has cracked off. can anyone tell me if just the red rubber bushing is replaceable or do I have to do the whole shebang.

That doesn't look too bad. Only about 4 quarts will come out. Most all stays in the torque converter. A temp probe should be used but it is not the end of the world if not. The red part is an accerary mount stiffener. Not a problem.

Diff oil is not the same, it is actual gear oil like a Lucas 75/90 or similar.
